“Over the past few days, there has been a sharp deterioration in the quality of the Russian Urals export blend coming in transit to the trunk pipeline section of Gomeltransneft Druzhba,” BelTA quotes Kostyuchenko.

According to her, the pipeline from Russia “supplies oil with a content of organochlorine compounds that is tens of times higher than the standard values”.

She pointed out that the sampling of oil, the performance of tests and the issuance of a quality certificate by the laboratory were carried out in the presence of a Transneft representative in Belarus.

As Kostyuchenko emphasized, the processing of oil of similar quality "may lead to a violation of the technological modes of operation of the refinery."

Transneft said that the situation with the quality of oil in the Druzhba pipeline should be normalized by Monday, April 22, or Tuesday, April 23.

According to the company's advisor to the president, Igor Dyomin, the management is in constant contact with the specialists of Gomeltransneft Druzhba, the management of the Belneftekhim concern and the Belarussian refinery.

“The company daily monitors indicators on the presence of organic chlorides, as well as analyzes arbitration samples to determine the source of“ contamination ”, Ria Novosti quotes Demina.

Earlier it became known that Belarus is planning an overhaul of five sections of the "Friendship". According to the statements of the Belarusian authorities, experts are studying the issue of blocking the pipeline.

Later, Transneft noted that they consider the condition of the pipeline satisfactory.
