6.4 magnitude earthquake occurs in China

Seismologists recorded an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwestern China.


This is reported by the US Geological Survey.

It is specified that tremors were recorded at 21:05 UTC (00:05 Moscow time on June 26). The epicenter was located 279 kilometers southeast of the city of Khotan. The center of the earthquake lies at a depth of 10 km.

Earlier, an earthquake of magnitude 6.0 was recorded off the coast of Iceland.
