  According to the official survey by the Xinjiang Seismic Network, a magnitude 6.4 earthquake occurred in Yutian County, Hotan, Xinjiang, at 5:05 on the 26th. The epicenter was located at 35.73 degrees north latitude, 82.33 degrees east longitude, and the focal depth was 10 kilometers.

  According to information from the Xinjiang Earthquake Administration, the epicenter of the earthquake was 138 kilometers away from Yutian County, 265 kilometers away from Hotan City, and 1005 kilometers away from Urumqi. There are no villages within 20 kilometers around the epicenter, no townships within 50 kilometers, and Aqiang Township within 100 kilometers.

  After the earthquake, the emergency response team at the Hotan Seismic Station has rushed to the earthquake area. At the same time, the working group of the Xinjiang Earthquake Administration set off from Urumqi to the epicenter to carry out emergency response work at the earthquake site.

  The Xinjiang Fire Rescue Corps launched the earthquake emergency rescue plan, and dispatched the fire rescue force of Tian County to the epicenter. The Hotan Fire Rescue Detachment, Aksu Fire Rescue Detachment, and Kashi Fire Rescue Detachment were ready for emergency.

  The Hetian area is extremely sparsely populated within 50 kilometers around Yutian County. It is 823 kilometers from the Aksu Forest Fire Brigade and 1034 kilometers from the Bazhou Forest Fire Brigade (in Korla).
