Live-streaming video game platforms are experiencing significant growth. They show a growth of 99% between April 2019 and April 2020, reports 01Net, which relays an article from The Verge .
Twitch, YouTube Gaming and Facebook Gaming are the most popular. This increase is partly explained by the confinement period.
Billions of hours of viewing per month
Twitch has seen a 50% increase in content viewed on its platform in the past two months (101% over the year). The platform now totals 1.645 billion hours of viewing per month. For its part, YouTube Gaming recorded a 14% increase in traffic over the same period (65% compared to 2019). for Facebook Gaming, the increase stood at 72% between March and April for growth of 238% more compared to the previous year.
In terms of video games, Valorant and Fortnite have concentrated the most hours of viewing on Twitch. More users also watched concerts, artist masterclasses and debates.
