“Criminal cases have been initiated on the facts of riots, hooliganism, the use and threat of violence against employees of the internal affairs bodies. These events took place at different times of the day on August 10 and at night on August 11 of this year on the territory of Brest and regional centers of the region, ”the UK said in a statement.

It is noted that "in the course of the riots, violence was used against the employees of the internal affairs bodies performing official duties for the protection of public order, and property on the central streets of some cities was damaged."

It is clarified that the investigators opened criminal cases under the article “participation in the riots” on the facts of the riots in Brest and Pinsk. Currently, 99 people are recognized as suspects.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus reported that in Brest, the police opened fire to kill the attackers.
