As Nauseda emphasized, if the mediation initiative fails against Minsk, European and national sanctions may be imposed.

Earlier, the foreign ministers of eight European countries - Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden - called on the Belarusian authorities to enter into a dialogue with the opposition.
