Two security guards from a store in Gonesse, in Val-d'Oise, and two accomplices were given an eight-month suspended prison sentence for the theft of more than 32,000 euros worth of Nike products.

Thanks to a well-established theft system, they stole hundreds of products, for damage estimated at more than 32,000 euros.

The alert was given by the manager of the store, in the Usines Center shopping mall in Gonesse, who contacted the police to report thefts of sneakers committed on July 23 and 24 by an employee, indicates the Departmental Directorate of Public Security. (DDSP) of Val d'Oise.

Damage of more than 32,000 euros

The investigation showed that two security guards in the store had set up a well-established theft system for several months.

They took the goods from the shelves and placed them in front of the exit reserved for security guards.

Employees from other stores in the center came to collect the products.

The two security guards received remuneration from the loot, but also kept a large amount of stolen effects for themselves, according to DDSP 95.

The searches at their home made it possible to get their hands on 750 stolen items for damage estimated at more than 32,000 euros.

The two security guards, a Nike store employee and a fourth accomplice were tried on Wednesday in immediate appearance and sentenced to eight months in prison suspended.

The stolen items found by the investigators have all been returned to the store.
