From next month, the so-called 'Fast Track' will be applied to high-risk groups of Corona, from testing to prescribing medicines in one day.

This is to prevent the symptoms from worsening because the elderly do not receive timely treatment after testing positive.

Reporter Yoo Seung-hyeon reports.

At the beginning of this year, when the daily number of confirmed cases reached 2.3 million, even the elderly and those with underlying diseases, which medical staff should be more concerned about, did not receive appropriate treatment in time.

Some people died during home treatment.

[Kim Deok-won / Gyeonggi Medical Center Suwon Hospital Medical Center (last February): In fact, there were cases where pneumonia was found (coming to an outpatient treatment center) or hospitalization was recommended (there was a case) because the case of passing to a seriously ill patient was omitted

. To prevent this from happening, we have decided to operate a 'fast track' for high-risk groups from next month.

The target audience is the elderly over the age of 60, the immunocompromised, and residents of nursing homes and facilities.

After receiving a rapid antigen test at a local hospital or clinic, if it is positive, an antipyretic or oral treatment is prescribed immediately.

If the PCR test is positive at the public health center, a managed medical institution will be assigned on the same day, and you will receive a health check call twice a day.

If necessary, face-to-face treatment or admission to a dedicated hospital is available on the same day.
