A CEO of a company who habitually assaulted an employee for not doing his job properly was sentenced to prison.

The Ulsan District Court announced today (4th) that it had sentenced a man in his 40s to one year in prison for violating the Labor Standards Act.

Person A, who runs a wholesale company in Ulsan, was charged with assault until April last year, including hitting employee B five times in the office in September 2020.

Person A hit B's head, kicked him, threw objects, threatened with abusive language, and knocked him down, grabbing his hair and dragging him away.

Mr. B was assaulted and suffered two weeks of injuries.

It was revealed that Mr. A was angry with Mr. B and did not do his job properly, such as not doing the business of collecting customer accounts properly and writing false sales books.

The court said, "The crime quality is poor by hitting and injuring victims by using their superior position."

"The defendant claims that the victim assaulted him because he worked in good faith and embezzled, but even if the victim was at fault, the accused's crime cannot be justified."
