Our reporters confirmed that the Ministry of Employment and Labor, which has to manage whether or not sex-related problems in the workplace are handled properly, have skipped over their internal problems.

It was only a light disciplinary action against a male employee who was caught making several strange calls to fellow female employees at dawn.

Reporter Im Tae-woo reports exclusively.

It was in January 2019 that five female employees of the Ministry of Employment and Labor started receiving strange calls.

I always get a call in the early morning due to the restriction on the display of the caller number, but when I answer the call, the other party just breathes without saying anything.

One female employee even received these calls 16 times in 5 months.

When the police investigated, it was a call from Mr. A, an employee of the same Ministry of Employment and Labor.

A, who was caught after reporting the victim, was referred to the disciplinary committee, and the Ministry of Employment and Labor held an advisory committee to determine whether it was sexual harassment.

Five out of six advisors judged sexual harassment as "enough to cause women to feel fear and sexual shame".

Nevertheless, the Ministry of Employment and Labor judged this behavior as a small mistake and ended the disciplinary action with a pay cut of three months.

When I asked experts about this decision, they pointed out that as it was judged to be an intentional act, severe disciplinary action should have been taken in accordance with the disciplinary regulations of public officials.

[Kwon Doo-seop / Attorney: Not talking can give more fear to the other person, and it can make you feel very sexually ashamed.

At least it's possible to get fired...

.]

[Lee Ji-eun / Attorney: The Ministry of Employment and Labor is the department that should take the most initiative in sexual harassment and sexual offenses.

In this way, if their own disciplinary decision is flimsy, will the public be convinced about it?]

Mr. A reflects on his mistakes on the phone with SBS reporters, but as he did not have any sexual intentions, it is not sexual harassment, and the punishment is rather heavy. claimed.
