A 16-year-old teenager was killed with a stab in the chest on Monday night in Les Lilas in Seine-Saint-Denis, we learned Tuesday from the prosecution and from a police source.

He died around 8 p.m. after receiving a stab in the chest, said the Bobigny prosecutor's office.

A 17-year-old teenager, suspected of being the author of the fatal blow, was arrested while he was on a Vélib, shortly after the facts, and taken into police custody.

The facts took place in a residential area of ​​the city, in the presence of a few young people, according to a police source, which for the time being excludes a homicide linked to gang phenomena.

The victim, from Bagnolet, and the suspect who lives in Les Lilas are not known to the police.

The investigation was entrusted to the judicial police of the department.

Several deaths of adolescents in Ile-de-France in recent months

Several teenagers have been killed recently in Ile-de-France in cases related to the phenomena of online harassment or clashes between gangs of young rivals.

In May, in the space of a week, two teenagers from Val-de-Marne, aged 17, were stabbed, following disputes.

Alysha, a 14-year-old schoolgirl victim of harassment, was found drowned in the Val-d'Oise in March.

More recently, a 19-year-old young man died in July a few days after being severely beaten amid rivalry between gangs from two neighboring towns in Essonne.
