I am now in Yeosu Gukdong Port.

If you look behind me, large and small fishing boats are now anchored to avoid the typhoon.

I arrived here in Yeosu early this morning and I have been watching the typhoon here now, but as time went on, the rain and wind got stronger.

At 12:00 noon, about an hour later, Typhoon Chantu seems to pass closest to the Yeosu area of Jeollanam-do, so I can feel the intensity getting stronger now.

In Jeollanam-do, a typhoon advisory is being maintained centered on coastal areas such as Yeosu, Gwangyang, and Suncheon.

As Typhoon Chantu is accompanied by rain and strong winds, there will be places where it will fall by more than 10 to 60 mm in the Jeollanam-do region.

In particular, strong winds of up to 30 m/s and 180 km/h were recorded at Gannyeoam in Yeosu today.

Waves are also getting higher and higher, with high waves of up to 8m expected in the morning.

54 routes to and from the Jeollanam-do islands were also suspended.

In addition, 27,000 fishing boats were anchored to avoid the typhoon.

About 3,000 cage farms in Jeollanam-do are also well prepared for damage.

Residents of coastal and island areas should stay indoors safely in case of rain and wind, and pay attention to facility management so as not to be damaged by strong winds or flooding.
