An additional 1028,000 doses of AstraZeneca (AZ)'s COVID-19 vaccine will be supplied.

According to the Corona 19 Vaccination Response Team (Promotion Team) today (12th), 1028,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine will be shipped from SK Bioscience's factory in Andong, Gyeongbuk tomorrow.

This vaccine is part of the 20 million doses that the Korean government directly contracted with AstraZeneca.

Including this amount, a total of 116,000 vaccines will be supplied to AstraZeneca and Pfizer by the 13th of this month.

The promotion team said, "We will continue to closely consult with pharmaceutical companies for a stable vaccine supply."

The government plans to supply about 28.6 million doses of vaccines this month by introducing an additional 22,515,000 doses of Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Moderna vaccines.

This includes 835,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, which will be delivered in August through 'Covax Facility', an international project for joint purchase of vaccines.

However, the US pharmaceutical company Moderna's position is that it can supply less than half of the planned volume for this month due to laboratory problems related to vaccine production, so the vaccine supply plan may change.
