The quarantine authorities announced today (3rd) that two people infected with the Corona 19 'Delta Plus mutant virus' were confirmed in Korea.

According to the Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters (Bangdaebon), one in two recently confirmed Delta Plus mutations is a man in his 40s with no overseas travel history.

As a result of testing contacts such as family members and co-workers, so far, there have been no additional confirmed cases other than one family member living together.

It is believed that this family member may also have been infected with the delta plus mutation, but the test results for the mutation type have not been released.

Another infected person is a person who has arrived from abroad.

Bang Dae-Bon said that the details of the Delta Plus mutation infection will be explained through a briefing this afternoon.

The delta plus mutation is a virus derived from the 'delta mutation' originating in India, which is leading the global COVID-19 epidemic, and is known to have stronger contagious power than the delta mutation.
