In Perpignan, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, a 15-year-old teenager was attacked with an iron bar last weekend.

Subsequently, two young people aged 16 and 17 were indicted for "attempted murder".

According to the first elements of the investigation, it was all part of an altercation over a telephone. 

Two young people of 16 and 17 years old were indicted for "attempted voluntary homicide" on a 15 year old teenager attacked in Perpignan with an iron bar the previous weekend, we learned Friday from source close to the investigation.

This violent attack took place around 4 am on the night of Saturday to Sunday, Place du Puig in the popular Saint-Jacques district, in the historic center of the Catalan city.

A brawl over a cell phone 

According to the first elements of the investigation, a fight would have broken out between the young people over a cell phone.

The victim, seriously injured, of Algerian nationality, would have arrived in France about a year ago.

The two young men were indicted after 48 hours in police custody.

They were left free under judicial supervision despite a request from the prosecution for remand in custody.

The prosecution appealed against this decision concerning the oldest of the alleged assailants and again requested his remand in custody.
