<Anchor> As

cases of corona infection of companion animals came out in Korea, the government prepared specific management guidelines.

If the owner was confirmed, the pet was also tested and if positive, the pet was quarantined.

It can also be sent to a care facility, in which case the owner is responsible for the cost.

This is reporter Kim Deok-hyun.

<Reporter> If a

companion animal raised by a confirmed patient is tested for Corona 19, the cost is free.

However, the test subjects were limited to dogs and cats, and only when there were suspicious symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, and increased eye and nose discharge.

If positive, self-isolation at home for 2 weeks is a rule.

Other unconfirmed family members are in charge of care, except for the elderly, children and those with underlying diseases.

If there is no one to care for or can not be quarantined at home, it can be referred to an acquaintance or a neighbor's family, and if you move to a veterinary hospital or a separate facility, the owner is responsible for the care.

Quarantine can be released if a voice is heard 2 weeks after or before quarantine.

Increased hygiene rules must also be followed during self-isolation.

When handling or feeding your pet's feces, wear a mask and gloves, wash your hands before and after contact, and disinfect the surroundings.

You should refrain from meeting other animals and avoid kissing or anything like this.]

The quarantine authorities urged that there is no need for excessive anxiety, saying that no humans have been infected with Corona 19 by companion animals.
