Q. Where is the mask required to be worn?
Depending on the stage of'social distancing', the places where masks are required are different.
The first stage of distance distancing includes public transportation, assembly/demonstration centers, medical institutions/pharmacies, nursing facilities and day and night protection facilities, religious facilities, indoor sports stadiums, call centers for high-risk workplaces, distribution and logistics centers, meetings and events with more than 500 people, etc. .
Q. If I am cracked down for not wearing a mask, will I have to pay the penalty immediately?
The purpose of implementing mandatory mask wear is guidance rather than punishment.
If a person violates an order to comply with the quarantine guidelines, such as wearing a mask, a penalty of not more than 100,000 won is imposed regardless of the number of violations.
However, in the case of crackdown, they are instructed to wear a mask first, and if they refuse to do so, a fine is imposed.
Q. Will I be fined if I am found not wearing a mask outdoors, such as taking a walk in a park?
You do not need to wear a mask when you can distance yourself more than 2 meters from other people during outdoor activities such as walking in the park, cycling, or hiking.
However, even outdoors, it is mandatory to wear a mask in places subject to administrative orders, such as gatherings, demonstration halls, and meetings and events of 500 or more people.
Q. Is there a penalty for not wearing a mask at restaurants and cafes?
In exceptional circumstances, such as when eating or drinking, in the water or in a bath, appearing on broadcasts, performing personal hygiene activities, or checking your identity, you are not subject to fines.
However, you must wear a mask at all times, except when entering a restaurant or café, placing an order, waiting for food, after eating, checking out, leaving, etc.
Q. Is there a penalty for not wearing a mask in the indoor swimming pool, bath, or sauna?
In swimming pools, baths, saunas, etc., you must wear a mask in changing rooms, except when in water or in a bath.
Conversation, yelling, and other behaviors that cause salivation, refrain from eating, and keep a distance of 2 meters or more between people.
Q. Will the guest, the groom, and the bride all be fined if they do not wear masks at the wedding hall?
In indoor wedding venues, masks must be worn except when eating.
However, only the bride and groom and parents of both families are recognized as an exception to the fine for negligence when the wedding is in progress.
Q. Are there any exceptions to fines when taking pictures for private purposes?
Taking private photos is not an exception.
However, at official events such as appointment ceremonies, agreement ceremonies, and awards, shooting limited to the minimum number of participants, such as those involved in the event, is an exception.
Q. If a user of a multi-use facility such as a restaurant does not wear a mask, will the manager or employee be fined for negligence?
Penalties are imposed only on users who are violating parties.
However, the restaurant manager may be imposed a fine of 3 million won or less if the user has not been informed of posting and complying with the quarantine guidelines, such as the duty to wear a mask.
Q. I cannot wear a mask when smoking. What should I do?
Tobacco is classified as a favorite food and is considered food intake, so smoking is considered an exception to the order to wear a mask.
This means if you smoke in an allowed place, such as a smoking area.
When smoking, it is recommended not to communicate with other people at a distance of 2 meters or more, and wear a mask before and after smoking.
