New York Post

According to the social media company, it has changed its policy on hacked material and the right-wing tabloid can send out tweets again.

Twitter had blocked the newspaper's account on Oct. 14 after the

New York Post

published articles about the son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Based on emails, the newspaper wrote that Hunter Biden used his father's influence some six years ago when he worked for the Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma.

Joe Biden, vice president at the time, is said to have come to the rescue of his son.

Because it was hacked material, Twitter decided to block the account.

That decision sparked much outrage among Republicans.

They accused the company of selective censorship against conservatives.

New York Post

tweeted a photo with Twitter's bird logo flying out of a cage, captioned "Twitter withdraws, finally unlocks Post account after Biden ban."

Last week, the top executives of Facebook, Google and Twitter had to answer to a committee of the US Senate on the freedom of tech companies to determine what they publish.

Twitter director Jack Dorsey was faced with the most questions.

Republicans are concerned about alleged censorship of conservative sound.

Dorsey said in response that Twitter is treating users equally.
