Convenience store CU is becoming a'mini police box' that protects children in crisis.

In June 2017, BGF Retail, which operates CU, introduced the'POS Emergency Report System' to the payment terminal (POS) with the National Police Agency. This is a system that creates a report button on the payment terminal to report to the police, customer service centers, and franchisees in an emergency.

Subsequently, in May 2018, we introduced the'Mia Search System' (iCU) in conjunction with this system. When a child is found, a CU store worker enters information such as a child's name and impression on POS, and the relevant information is shared in real time to the police and CU stores nationwide.

In fact, since the introduction of'ICU', more than 70 people, including children, dementia patients and intellectually disabled people, have returned to their caregivers. As the number of stores steadily increased and accessibility improved, it became possible to act as a'public infrastructure'.

In addition, the BGF Welfare Foundation recently signed a business agreement ceremony at the Jongno-gu Children's Rights Protection Center in Seoul on the 27th of the month to support the protection of children in crisis and improve the awareness of children-centered citizens.

Particularly noteworthy in this agreement is the use of'iCU' to perform a public service reporting function to monitor suspected cases of child abuse. As a result, approximately 1,100 franchisees and approximately 100,000 employees are responsible for protecting children's safety at 14,000 stores nationwide.

Yang Kyung-hee, Chairman of the BGF Welfare Foundation, said, "The Foundation will systematically and continuously support the children's welfare business to realize a society without discrimination for children."
