Today (24th), some trains in Seoul Subway Line 5 were stopped due to an accident that a train moving to a vehicle base was off track.

According to the Seoul Transportation Corporation, at around 1:40 am, an electric car was out of track at Balsan Station on Line 5.

This train was a return train that was moving from Godeok Vehicle Station to Fire Station, and there were no passengers on board.

Due to this accident, the operation of the Banghwa-Hwagok route was suspended for the first time today.

The rest of the section operates normally, but some delays are expected.

KAC has put six emergency transportation buses in the section where trains are suspended.

Passengers can take the bus from 8 stations including Banghwa, Gaehwasan, and Gimpo Airport until the restoration is completed.

An official from the corporation said, "I'm working on an on-site response team immediately after the accident to identify the cause and recovering it."
