Apple is recalling MacBook Pro models with a 15-inch screen because the battery can overheat. The company announced this on Thursday.
These are models that were sold between September 2015 and February 2017. Apple writes that the laptops can pose a security risk.
Customers who have purchased a 15-inch screen-sized MacBook Pro during that time can check online to see if they qualify for a free battery replacement. A serial number must be entered for this.
Eligible people can go to Apple or a store that is authorized by Apple. Other MacBooks are not at risk, according to Apple.
In the past, MacBook models often had problems. Last year Apple started a replacement program due to a defective battery. In that case the battery could swell in the housing.
