Beijing, March 3 -- Recently, the Department of Physical Education and Research of Peking University and the NFL Major League Football China Office (hereinafter referred to as "NFL China") held the launching ceremony of strategic cooperation on the integration of rugby sports and education. In the future, the two sides will cooperate on the construction of football teams and clubs of Peking University, the cultivation of rugby talents, and the promotion and exchange of rugby culture, so as to promote the deepening and development of the integration of rugby sports and education.
Chen Zhengwei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Physical Education and Research Department of Peking University, extended a warm welcome to the NFL Chinese guests and looked forward to the smooth and successful cooperation between the two sides. Jia Hengxuan, General Manager of NFL China, and Lai Xiaolei, Executive Director of the Sports Cooperation and Development Center of the Department of Physical Education and Research of Peking University and instructor of the Peking University football team, signed the cooperation agreement. Relevant responsible persons of the Sports Cooperation and Development Center, Campus Sports Culture Guidance Center, Venue Operation Management Center, and Teaching Office of Peking University Physical Education and Research Department, as well as special guests from Youmei Camp and other institutions attended the launching ceremony.
As early as October 2021, NFL China supported Peking University to set up a representative team and club for equipment rugby and flag football. At present, Peking University rugby team game training, viewing party, theme movie viewing and rugby culture publicity and other activities have been carried out richly, and rugby has also become a course of the "Strengthening the Country and Rejuvenating the Sports" project of the Department of Physical Education, and rugby has formed a considerable influence on the campus of Peking University, which is well received by the majority of teachers and students. With the support of NFL China, the Peking University football team has continued to develop and grow, and the football culture has rapidly spread on campus, and more students have begun to be attracted to the sport. Especially as a "safe non-collision sport", flag football has also allowed more and more girls to feel the joy of sports, enhance self-confidence and break through themselves. In order to support Peking University girls to participate in this sport, NFL China organized a special experience activity for Peking University students in flag football at the launch ceremony on the morning of March 3.
At the May Fourth Stadium of Peking University, the guests witnessed the scenes of Peking University girls running and chasing, sweating like rain, and sprinting to touchdowns on the court, and they were amazed and proud of Peking University's educational concept of "equal ability and integrity, sound physique". NFL China General Manager Jia Hengxuan donated a large number of professional equipment to Peking University on behalf of the NFL, and the captain and team representatives of the Peking University football team received it and thanked NFL China for its strong support.
With the signing of this strategic cooperation on the integration of sports and education, NFL China will carry out a series of projects with the Department of Physical Education and Research of Peking University to hold NFL Apple Seed Program special activities for teachers and students in Beijing, jointly introduce international advanced rugby training and teaching management experience, develop rugby training and curriculum system suitable for Chinese campuses, provide a stronger professional talent base for the development of rugby, and help rugby programs achieve longer growth and development on domestic campuses.
