Lara Stalder came to Sweden in 2017 and has dominated in SDHL in recent years.

In both 2021 and 2022, she broke the scoring record in the league with first 82 and then 89 points.

This year's victory in the points league was her fourth in a row.

But when it comes to WC finals, the 28-year-old Swiss has not been as successful.

First it was double silver with Linköping before she now has two consecutive final losses with Brynäs.

"Want to leave with gold"

- I really want to leave Sweden and Brynäs with a gold.

It would be a dream and I will do everything I can.

I have enough silver now and know what it's like to be on the other side, she says.

How much do you think about that gold?

- You have it in the back of your mind all the time, but you don't want to think about it too much.

As soon as you do that, you lose focus on the here and now.

Recently, it became clear that Stalder will leave the club and the SDHL after the season to move home to Switzerland where she will help build the women's business in EV Zug, which will start a team in the second division.

"Want to take it home with me"

- I'm really looking forward to it and have seen now in Brynäs how women's hockey has been built up here.

I want to take it home with me where I get the chance to continue playing and at the same time be close to friends and family.

It's always been a dream and now it's coming true.

When she looks back on the years in Sweden, she can state that it did not turn out as she had imagined.

- When I came here, I wanted to study in Linköping for two years and then go home.

Now I stand here six years later.

I had a good time in Linköping but even better is.

I have been able to help build women's hockey here and make us a final team.

It's been one heck of a journey.

Brynäs meets Djurgården in the semi-final, which begins on Tuesday.
