This is the first national archery competition this year.

  The competition set up men's and women's individual 70-meter first and second rounds (72 arrows), men's and women's individual 70-meter double-rounds, men's and women's team and mixed team 70-meter first and second rounds.

More than 450 athletes and coaches from nearly 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities including Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Hainan, and Hong Kong participated in the competition. The final will be held on the 18th.

According to the practice of the event, the National Archery Championship is the opening competition of the annual archery, and this competition represents the beginning of the new season.

Mu Yong, director of the Archery Department of the Shooting and Archery Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, said that this competition will be used to test the winter training effects of all teams across the country, and to discover and select excellent seedlings through the competition.

  "I have been training in Haikou for one and a half months, and I have accumulated experience in Fengtian archery. This time I mainly practiced in competitions, tested the training results, and prepared for the 2023 Archery World Championships and Hangzhou Asian Games." Wei Shaoxuan, a member of the national training team, said, I take the championship as my goal in every competition I participate in, and I hope to achieve good results in this competition.

  As a sport that combines competition and leisure, archery has been rapidly promoted in Haikou in recent years, and the group of archery enthusiasts has expanded rapidly.

Mu Yong said that Hainan's unique climatic conditions and good natural environment are very suitable for the development of outdoor sports such as archery. He hopes to build a winter training base for archery in Hainan in the future and form a branded archery event in Hainan.
