Jesper Nelin has two top-ten finishes in the World Cup this season, and with the Swedish men's relay team he has taken a second place and two fourth places.

He was also part of Sweden's winning relay team in the 2018 Olympics.

Now the Swede has injured himself - only days before departure for the Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof, Germany.

- Status is actually good.

He had problems with his neck during a training session last week.

He has since worked with our physiotherapist, says Johannes Lukas, the national biathlon team's head coach.

On the skis tomorrow

The national team coach gives more reassuring information.

- He has trained indoors so as not to strain his neck in downhill positions.

But I reckon he'll be skiing tomorrow, says Lukas.

Are you worried about the WC?

- Not at all, I was a little worried at the beginning of the week when I knew exactly when it would get better, but I talked to him for a long time yesterday and I saw his interval session yesterday on the treadmill and I can say that he went very fast there.

February 8–19, the Biathlon World Cup will be decided in German Oberhof and will be broadcast on SVT.
