THE ESSENTIAL

  • After the women yesterday, it's the men's turn to set off for the sprint event in Pokljuka, Slovenia.

  • The first competitor will leave at 2:20 p.m., in this race broadcast on the L'Equipe channel.

  • For now, the two Norwegians Johannes Boe and Sturla Laegreid dominate this World Cup season, while the French are in the background.

  • The Blues are still looking for their first victory.

If Emilien Jacquelin, 3rd in the general classification, has piled up the podiums, Quentin Fillon Maillet, winner of the big crystal globe last season, is not at the expected level for the moment.

9:00 a.m.: The challenges

This is the problem when you have a team that is a hit.

As soon as the results are a little less good, it is immediately the drama.

Take the French men's biathlon team, which has accustomed us to winning one in two races (or almost) in recent years.

It's more complicated this season, with still zero success on the clock after eight individual races.

If Emilien Jacquelin saves the furniture, Quentin Fillon Maillet, who crushed the competition last year, is clearly in trouble with his 8th place overall.

The Jura player has not yet done better than 4th place and seems to be struggling to manage his new status.

The objective is now to increase in power in the perspective of the Worlds, in February.

It starts today with this Pokljuka sprint.

>> We meet around 2 p.m. to finally see a Frenchman put Boe and Laegreid in their place (yes)...
