French Stephanie makes history.. the first female referee to run a World Cup match

France's Stephanie Frappart will become the first female referee to officiate a men's match at the FIFA World Cup Finals.


This comes after she was appointed to manage the Germany-Costa Rica match scheduled for next Thursday in the third round of the group stage in the World Cup in Qatar, according to what was announced by the International Federation "FIFA".


Frappart, Rwandan Salima Mukansanga, and Japanese Yoshimi Yamashita were included in the list of 36 referees chosen by FIFA for the Qatar World Cup, while three other women participated as assistant referees.

Frapart participated as a fourth referee in the Poland-Mexico match, in the first round of the group stage in the World Cup in Qatar.
