It was expected, it is now official.

Olympique Lyonnais, 9th in Ligue 1, announced on Sunday "the layoff as a precautionary measure" of its coach Peter Bosz and to have appointed Laurent Blanc to succeed him.

Aged 56, Blanc, former coach of Bordeaux, the France team and Paris Saint-Germain, signed a two-year contract, until June 30, 2024. Laurent Blanc had been free since his dismissal from the Qatari club from Al Rayyan in February 2022 where he was appointed in November 2020. Peter Bosz was appointed Lyon coach in June 2021 to replace Rudi Garcia, at the end of his contract.
