A goalkeeper in the Ethiopian Premier League managed to avoid a red card despite directing an acrobatic kick against the opposing team player.

And spread on social media, video clips of the strange incident in a match between the newly crowned champion of Ethiopia, "St. George", and the "Bahr Dar" team.

In the clip, "Bahr Dar" goalkeeper Harston Heiso appears catching the ball inside his area.

Then he made an unexpected acrobatic move during which he collided with the opponent's player, who collapsed to the ground in pain.

And the match referee awarded - immediately - a penalty kick for the "St. George" team, but he did not send Heisoo.

The St. George team player failed to translate the penalty kick into a goal, so the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

Despite the draw in the last match, "St. George" crowned the Ethiopian Premier League with a difference of 5 points over its nearest competitor.

It is reported that this is not the first strange incident for goalkeepers in the Ethiopian Premier League in recent years.

In 2018, a video of the goalkeeper of "Wiloalo Adigrat" team went viral after throwing the ball into his own goal.
