Zamalek to the Egypt Cup final after a strange scenario

Zamalek survived the surprises of the Egyptian Cup in football and qualified for the final match, with an exciting victory on Monday against Aswan, who is returning to the First Division next season, 2-1 at the Arab Contractors Stadium, in the first semi-final of the postponed competition of the 2020-2021 season.

Aswan advanced through Mohamed Nagy "Gedo" (9), and equalized the result for Zamalek, Mahmoud Alaa (34), before Youssef Ibrahim "Obama" scored the winning goal (36), in a match in which Aswan missed two penalties.

Zamalek is waiting in the final match, the winner of the second semi-final match between Petrojet and the winner of the quarter-final match between Al-Ahly and Pyramids.

Aswan opened registration early.

After "Gedo" took advantage of Mahmoud Alaa's pass error, he received the ball inside the penalty area, and hit a ball that was pushed away by Muhammad Awad to a corner, which was played by Muhammad Rizk, with a cross that "Gedo" turned into a header that bounced from the left post to him to return and inhabit the net.

The players of Zamalek felt embarrassed in their position in front of Aswan, and pressed offensively, so there were many opportunities on Khaled Walid's goal, who removed the "Obama" header from the goal line, and dispersed the defense, then countered Mahmoud Hamdi's "Al Wensh" header.

Finally, the "white" pressure resulted in a equalizing goal (34), after Alaa followed Muhammad Abdul-Ghani's header into the net to the right of Walid, and two minutes later, "Obama" added the goal of progress, taking advantage of Ashraf bin Sharqi's cross, and hit it and collided with the goalkeeper's hand and lived in the net.

Aswan rose at the beginning of the second half in search of an equalizer.

In the 53rd minute, the match referee awarded a penalty kick after the winch blocked Gedo, Rizk shot it and Awad saved it.

Twenty minutes later, the referee returned and awarded a second penalty kick to Aswan (73) after returning to the VAR technique, after Abdel-Ghani blocked the substitute Mido Gamal, so Dahrouj hit it and Awad saved it again.
