Golf icon Tiger Woods is still not recovered from the car crash he was involved in last year.

The American made a comeback in The Masters in April - and is doing his second competition this week after returning.

However, the 46-year-old got off to a tough start in the major competition PGA Championship.

He started promisingly, but dropped out, looked to be suffering from leg pain and finally went to the finish line a good distance from the lead.

- It does not feel good in the leg.

Not as good as I had hoped, he tells Golf Channel afterwards.

Woods continues:

- I can not gather strength.

Gathering power hurts.

Pushing down the foot hurts.

Walking hurts.

Turning around hurts.

But it's golf.

Swedish Alex Norén went around in pairs during the first round.
