Guinness World Records announced its intention to adopt the European Champions League as the greatest sporting competition in history.
The encyclopedia said - in a tweet on Twitter - "We will confirm that the Champions League is the greatest sports competition in history."

This came after the two matches on Tuesday night, which witnessed the sudden exit of Bayern Munich at the hands of Spanish club Villarreal, with a fatal draw with one goal for each team.

The match ended with the loss of the Royal by 3 goals to 2, but he benefited from the first leg win in London with 3 goals to one goal.
