Al-Ahly beats Mars with three and avoids surprises in the “African Champions”

Al-Ahly of Egypt defeated Al-Merekh of Sudan 3/1, today, in the fifth round of Group A of the African Champions League.

Al-Ahly advanced through Percy Tau in the 19th minute, before Ramadan Ajab equalized for Mars in the 60th minute. In the 72nd minute, Mohamed Sharif scored the second goal for the Egyptian team, before Ahmed Abdel Qader added the third goal a minute later.

Al-Ahly raised its score to seven points in second place, three points behind the South African Sun Downs, the leader in the standings, who will visit the Sudanese Al-Hilal tomorrow in the fifth round competitions.

On the other hand, Al-Marikh's balance froze at four points in the fourth and last place, with a goal difference behind Al-Hilal, the third-placed player, with the same balance of points.

In a second match in Group B, the Moroccan Raja Casablanca team qualified for the next round, after achieving an important victory away from home over Amazolo with goals from Hamid Haddad and Elias Haddad.
