Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the country has been stripped of its hosting of several sporting events.

Now comes new news.

The contract with Russia's GP has been terminated and thus the country will from now on never be allowed to arrange any competitions.

"Formula 1 can confirm that the contract with the Russian GP has been terminated.

This means that Russia will not arrange any competitions in the future ", it is written in a statement.

Previously, the four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel has said that he refuses to participate if the race is canceled and the reigning world champion Max Verstappen has said that it would not feel right to compete in a country that is at war.

Vladimir Putin was one of the people who made sure that Formula 1 came to Russia in 2014.
