Following Russia's military invasion of Ukraine, FIFA = International Football Association and UEFA = Union of European Football Associations announced on the 28th that they will ban Russian national teams and club teams from all tournaments they host.

FIFA and UEFA issued a joint statement on the 28th, stating that representatives and club teams will be banned from all tournaments hosted against Russia, which has invaded Ukraine.

The period has not been disclosed as "until notice", but this will prevent the Russian national team from participating in the playoffs of the World Cup European qualifiers scheduled for March, and Spartak Moscow will be in the Europa League at the club. You will not be able to participate in the first round of the final tournament.

On the 27th, FIFA announced a ban on international matches in Russia and measures to disallow participation as a country, but since it allowed the match as the "Russian Football Union", it will play against Russia in the playoffs. A series of criticisms from the planned football associations such as Poland announced additional measures in just one day.

The UEFA has also announced that it will terminate its sponsorship agreement with Russia's largest government-affiliated gas company, Gazprom.

"We hope that the situation in Ukraine will improve significantly and rapidly and that football will once again move towards unity and peace," FIFA and UEFA said in a statement.
