He has since received chemotherapy and before Christmas he was hospitalized again for continued care of the same tumor.
This time, according to the AP, they should have examined whether the cancer has spread further in the body.
According to the news agency, Pelé has a tumor in the colon, one in the liver and one in one lung.
His condition is closely monitored.
