Malmö players Markus Lauridsen, Oliver Lauridsen and Matias Lassen have been selected in the Danish men's squad for the games, which will be inaugurated on 4 February.

This is the first time ever that Denmark has qualified for the games.

“As a Danish hockey player, getting the chance to take part in an Olympics is something we have worked extremely hard for the past 20 years.

And to be able to live out the dream of participating in an Olympic game and representing your country on the biggest of stages, it is incredibly big ", says Oliver Lauridsen to the club.

From other clubs in the SHL, forward trio Morten Madsen, Timrå, Patrick Russel, Linköping, and Nick Olesen, Brynäs, have also been taken out of the squad - as well as the hockey Allsvenskan goalkeeper Frederik Dichow in Kristianstad.

Last week, American hill Brian Cooper and the Czech forwards brothers Tomas and Hynek Zohorna, who all three play in Oskarshamn on a daily basis, were taken out to the games.

Frölunda's forward Michael Spacek is also selected in the Czech team and Skellefteå's goalkeeper Strauss Mann in the USA.

The men's Olympic ice hockey tournament starts on February 9.

Tre Kronor's squad there will be presented on 21 January.
