It was on Thursday morning that Monsén crashed during the second training run in Val Gardena.

He fell at high speed and when he finally stopped he seemed to shout out his pain and hit his left knee several times, and the training was interrupted for half an hour, before Monsén was abducted from the hill by helicopter.

After an examination at a hospital in Bressanone, it has been established that he has sustained a knee injury.

-

Felix's knee has been examined with a X-ray in Bressanone and it has been established that the patellar tendon is off.

He is now on his way to Innsbruck where new examinations will be done, says national team doctor Jakob Svanberg.

According to Swedish national team coach Charly Pichler, it should not have been an otherwise serious crash and no back or head injuries have been found.

In Innsbruck, among other things, magnetic resonance imaging awaits.

- The next step is to do a magnetic X-ray to assess if there is any possible associated damage to, for example, ligaments or menisci.

Only after that can we say something about upcoming operations and prognosis for healing and recovery, says Jakob Svanberg.
