The UAE Federation postpones the settlement of Marvik’s fate and accepts Al-Sahlawi’s resignation

An official source revealed to "Emirates Today" that the board of directors of the Emirates Football Association did not resolve during its meeting today, Monday, via remote video communication technology headed by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the fate of the Dutch national team coach Marvik, and postponed the matter for further study from all sides. Until the formation of the new teams committee after accepting the resignation of the current committee headed by Youssef Hussein Al-Sahlawi, against the background of the national team’s exit from the Arab Cup 2021 quarter-finals.

The source indicated that the Board of Directors of the Federation discussed options related to the fate of the technical staff and the repercussions that could occur, as well as a technical and administrative report for the national team during its recent participation in the Arab Cup.

It is expected that the Football Association will form a new teams committee, and there is more than one candidate, including Board Member Hamid Al Tayer, in addition to the Vice Chairman of the National Teams Committee, Board Member Saif Al-Mansoori, and among the options is also the return of the First Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Abdullah Al-Junaibi to take over the presidency of the committee again.
