The UAE national football team qualifies to face Qatar in the Arab Cup on Friday

The national football team qualified for the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup, which is currently being hosted by the Qatari capital, Doha.

Al-Abyad qualified despite losing to Tunisia on Monday evening, with a goal without a response, which came through its striker, Seif El-Din Jaziri, who came in the tenth minute.

The UAE team took advantage of Syria's loss against Mauritania with two goals to one, to be in second place behind Tunisia, which came in the lead, each with six points, but the "Carthage Eagles" outperform the direct confrontations.

Al-Abyad will face Qatar in the second stage of the tournament, while the Tunisian team will wait for the second place, which is being competed by the teams of Iraq, Bahrain and Oman.

Al-Abyad presented a distinguished performance in the overall outcome of his meeting with Tunisia, as the meeting started perfectly, and the ball was for the first 10 minutes between the feet of his players, but the confrontation turned suddenly and from the first attempt of the Tunisian team, Youssef Msakni penetrated, between Walid Abbas and Muhammad Al-Attas, and passed from Goalkeeper Khaled Issa puts the ball on her and Saif Al-Jaziri catches up with her, and puts it inside the net.

The national team players were confused, and appeared unable to get the ball out of their half of the court, until the 24th minute, which witnessed the first threat to Tunisia's goal through Ali Saleh's shot, which he played from outside the box, and goalkeeper Moez Hassan turned it into a corner kick.

Fate was merciful to the UAE team, when the goalkeeper, Khaled Issa, prevented two attempts. The first was from a header played by defender Yassin Meriah, to bounce from the goalkeeper's hands to Saif Al-Jaziri, while he was facing the goal, but Issa blocked the ball again.

Emirati hearts were torn apart with Saif Al-Jaziri's ball, which received a cross-football, and was alone in the goal, but fortunately for Khaled Issa, the ball hit the post and settled outside the field "44".

Al-Abyad entered the second half with a clear advantage and his players put pressure on the Tunisian team, and there was a real chance to equalize, but goalkeeper Moez Hassan managed to push the ball away, which his teammate Ghaylan Chaalali almost put in his own net.
