It was after the US Open earlier in September that Naomi Osaka announced that she would take a break from tennis to focus on her mental health.

The former world setter, who previously said that media activities had a negative effect on her, thus withdrew from the WTA tournament Indian Wells.

Now Osaka opens to break the break.

- I know I will play again, probably soon because it itches in me, she says according to Reuters.

- But it would not matter if I won or lost.

The star says that on a return she would only be happy to be back on the tennis court.

- I used to love competitions and being competition-oriented.

The longer the matches were, the more fun it was for me.

Then the feelings became different and longer matches felt stressful.

- I needed a break for myself.
