Yukifumi Murakami, 41, who won the medal at the world championship for the first time as a Japanese athlete in the javelin throw of track and field and participated in the Olympics three times, announced his retirement.

Originally from Ehime Prefecture, Murakami has been active for a long time as a leading javelin thrower, having won the Japan Championships for 12 consecutive years since 2000.

In addition, at the 2009 World Championships, he won the bronze medal, the first medal in the Olympics and World Championships as a Japanese player.

He has participated in the Olympic Games for the third time in a row since the 2004 Athens Games, and was the captain of the Japanese team at the 2012 London Games.

My personal best is 85 meters and 96 centimeters, which is the third highest in Japan.

On the 26th, Murakami participated in the All Japan Business Group Championship held in Osaka City, finished in 15th place, and announced his retirement.

At a press conference after the competition, Murakami said, "I wanted to throw it firmly at the end of my competition life, so I was sent to the competition. I was happy to be able to compete with my friends."

On top of that, "I've been competing without a player stronger than me, but it's amazing that players over 80 meters have become commonplace. I think javelin throwing is a world-class event, and I've worked hard to make it the world. I want you to keep an eye on it, "he sent a yell to his juniors.
