A spokesman for the Moroccan Football Association revealed - on Sunday - that the federation is coordinating with the competent Moroccan authorities to secure the national team's delegation in Conakry to face Guinea in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers after a coup.

In a brief statement broadcast on state television, soldiers carrying out an uprising in the Guinean capital Conakry said they had suspended the constitution and dissolved the government.

A soldier wearing a Guinean flag and surrounded by 8 other armed soldiers said that they intend to form a transitional government, and will announce other details at a later time.

Heavy shooting erupted near the presidential palace in the capital, Conakry, on Sunday morning, and several sources said that an elite unit of the national army was behind the unrest.
