"Oman dessert" with the most delicious taste after beating Japan

The Sultanate of Oman blew up a heavy-caliber surprise by returning a winner from the home of Japan 1-0, Thursday, in the first round of Group B for the final round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in football.

At Suita Stadium in Osaka, substitute Issam Al-Sobhi snatched the winning goal for Oman two minutes before the end of the original time, turning Salah Al Yahyai's cross into the net from close range.

In the same group, Australia will play later with China in Doha and Saudi Arabia with Vietnam in Riyadh.

And 12 teams booked seats in the final round after a strong competition during the second round of the joint Asian qualifiers for the World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup in China.

The teams were divided into two groups, with each group comprising six teams, and the first two teams from each group qualify for the World Cup, while the two third-placed teams go to the Asian play-off to determine the qualifier for the World Cup.

The Japanese team topped its group in the second round with eight victories, while Oman was runner-up to Qatar in Group E with six victories from eight matches.

Japan qualified for the last six editions of the World Cup, while Oman did not participate any time in its history.
