Tomoe Sato (31), a wheelchair class player who is expected to win a gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics next month, is working on strengthening the race to reach top speed at the beginning of the race at the training camp before the performance.

Sato, who participates in the men's 400-meter and 1500-meter wheelchair classes on land at the Tokyo Paralympics, is the second world record holder.

We have been holding a training camp in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture since the 4th of this month, and on the 16th, we repeated the practice of running a relatively short 200 meters with two athletes in the less disabled class.

Sato, who weighs 72 kg and is relatively heavy, has a problem that it takes time from the start to speed, so he was working on strengthening the early stages of the race to see how quickly he could catch up with the other players ahead.

Last month, Sato set a time that surpassed his own world record by more than one second in the 1500m race, although it was not officially recognized, and he is deepening his confidence in breaking the world record and winning the gold medal in the actual race.

Sato said, "Being aware of how much you can keep up at the start of the task and how early you can close the gap will lead to a new world record. Next month, you will practice to increase the top speed. , I want to make adjustments so that I can get the same time every day. "
