Daniel Congré and the MHSC, it's over.

The 36-year-old central defender's contract will not be renewed by the club after nine seasons, the club said, confirming information from France Bleu Hérault.

The player, who started his career in Toulouse in 2004, arrived in Montpellier in 2012, after the club had just won the title of champion of France.

He is now free to engage where he wishes.

"I was the first to be surprised," Daniel Congré told

There is a hint of disappointment because I was not expecting it.

325 games

In nine seasons, the player has played 325 games in all competitions with Montpellier.

A sign of his consistency, he notably played every game during the final season, finished in 8th place and by a semi-final of the Coupe de France.

After Vitorino Hilton, it is therefore a new flagship player of the MHSC who is leaving the team, while Olivier Dall'Oglio arrives, in place of Michel Der Zakarian.
