It was after Marko Arnautovic had made it 3-1 against Northern Macedonia that he turned around shouting aggressively at the North Macedonian players.

He himself claimed that it was aimed at the opposing supporters and later apologized for his celebration, but the North Macedonian federation believes that it was aimed at their full-back Ezgjan Alioski who has Albanian credentials.

Arnautovic's father is Serbian and his mother Austrian.

"We are always against nationalism, discrimination and all other forms of outbursts that have nothing to do with football's values," the association wrote in a statement.

They now want Arnautovic punished in some way.
