Between 2016-2020, Gustafsson led IFK Norrköping in the Allsvenskan.

In December 2020, it was clear that he was leaving the club and since then there has been speculation that other Allsvenskan clubs have been interested in him.

But the moving load is now going abroad.

The classic Croatian team Hajduk Split has presented Gustafsson as their new head coach.

He succeeds the Italian Paolo Tramezzani.

The club already has the national team-qualified midfielder Alexander Kacaniklic who joined the club from Hammarby earlier this year.
