The Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK) has also taken out the rower Lovisa Claesson, which means that the Swedish squad currently contains 94 active members.

Claesson passed the European Olympic qualifier at the rowing regatta in early April.

By being fourth in the final in singles sculls, she took one of the three places that were awarded in the class.

The 26-year-old rower is selected via the future criterion.

"We believe and hope that Lovisa will be involved in rowing for top positions in Paris in three years' time," says SOK's operations manager Peter Reinebo in a press release.

Both Adlerteg and Rumbutis arranged international qualifying places for the Olympics during the latest world championship in artistic gymnastics.

They are taken out to the Olympics in Tokyo after great efforts during this weekend's European Championships in Basel.

Adlerteg, who has two European Championship silvers on the merit list, then finished in sixth place in the conifer final.

Rumbutis was the 13th man in the all-around final.

The 25-year-old Adlerteg is selected for the basic criterion, ie to be able to compete for eighth place in Tokyo.

The 21-year-old Rumbutis joins the Olympic squad via the future criterion.

It will be the first time in 37 years that Sweden sends two gymnasts to an Olympic game, then in Los Angeles in 1984 it was Jonas Jonasson and Lena Adomat who competed for Sweden.

"I do not think it will take 37 years before it happens again.

David is selected with a view to the games in Paris 2024 and the talent group behind the still young Jonna looks strong ", says Reinebo.

"Large and powerful squad"

The next selection for the Olympics in Tokyo will take place on 19 May.

"We have a large and powerful squad, which will grow with about 40-50 names before the Olympics," says Reinebo.
