Ryoko Hirosue, an actor from Kochi prefecture, has decided to decline the torchbearer who was scheduled to serve next month at the torch relay of the Tokyo Olympics.
The Tokyo Olympic torch relay will start in Fukushima Prefecture on the 25th and will travel nationwide.
In Kochi prefecture, it will be held for two days on the 19th and 20th of next month in a section of about 34 km of 19 municipalities, and Mr. Hirosue from Kochi prefecture was also nominated as a recommended runner of the prefecture.
According to the prefecture, in the middle of this month, Mr. Hirosue contacted me that it was difficult to adjust the schedule, and he decided to decline the torchbearer.
The prefecture says, "I'm sorry that there are many people in the prefecture who were looking forward to running Hirosue."
